Mr Joseph T. A. Buccheri

Joseph is the Managing Director of IMPEX Lawyers & Advisers and is admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in the jurisdictions of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. He is an accredited International Trade Facilitator with over 25 years working experience in Italy, Switzerland, North/Latin America and Asia markets.

His principal area of practice is International Trade & Commercial Law with a dedication to assisting the vast array of issues faced by his entrepreneurial clients wishing to understand, participate and succeed in local & global markets.

He is recognised as a ‘Global Top 200’ Lawyer by the International Trade Council and is a regular attendee on China/Hong Kong and Australian trade and investment delegations and sought after host and moderator for State and Federal political (Ministerial level) and business (C suite level) events.

Miss Trista Lim

Miss Lim joined the Administrative Service of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2007. She was appointed in July 2021 as the Director (Representative to Australia and New Zealand) of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney, which represents the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Australia and New Zealand.

Miss Lim has previously served in various government bureaux and departments, including the Security Bureau, the Labour and Welfare Bureau, Kwai Tsing District Office of the Home Affairs Department, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, the Civil Service Bureau and the Food and Health Bureau.

Miss Lim received her Bachelor Degree in Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr Stephen Phillips

Mr Stephen Phillips is the Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), the Government Department responsible for attracting and facilitating foreign direct investment into Hong Kong.

Mr Phillips has served in senior positions in a number of private and public organisations. He lived and worked in Hong Kong from 1989 to 2004 holding senior investment banking positions with Deutsche and BZW/Barclays Capital before co-founding a Hong Kong-based group of
companies providing IT, financial and consultancy services across Asia. In 2004, Mr Phillips joined UK Trade & Investment (now the UK’s Department of International Trade) before becoming the Chief Executive of the China Britain Business Council in 2006, as well as Chairman of the EU China Business Association.

Mr Phillips holds a BSc in Chemistry and Law from the University of Exeter.

Ms Donna Payne

Donna has a broad range of experience across a range of project types and has a demonstrated
ability to manage sensitive and complex projects. Donna contributes strong planning and team
management, to back up her design skills and the delivery bespoke achievable solutions to all
projects.

Mr Daniel Minihan

Daniel is the leader of the Business and Private Clients Group in Australia encompassing 12 Partners, 150 staff across offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Hong Kong.

His client work focuses on large private High and Ultra High Net Worth Family Groups including the provision of whole of life Family Office Services. The ShineWing Family Office team provides a full service office to clients focused on Accounting, Taxation, Cash Flow, Debt Structuring, Estate and Succession Planning, Asset Allocation, Portfolio Construction and Investment Selection. This includes working closely with external advisers to effectively coordinate a central family and back office solution for clients across Australia and Asia.

As a leader at ShineWing Australia, Daniel drives our domestic business strategy and our Asia Engagement working closely with our Private Client Asia Advisory team focused on helping small to medium businesses grow their markets into Asia and assisting Chinese and Asian clients investing in and migrating to Australia.

Daniel also works in the Education Sector including being regularly retained in consulting and advisory roles working with COO and CFO’s of Australian Universities to deliver targeted outcomes over short time frames. These engagements have included policy drafting, foundation and philanthropy consulting, Investment advisory, financial due diligence and modelling, student accommodation securitisation and independent tender panel member.

Ms Virginia Birrell

Virginia joined the Australia China Business Council Victoria (ACBC) as CEO in August 2014. Her primary responsibilities are to optimise the performance and strategic growth of the ACBC in Victoria and to ensure member companies in city, metropolitan and regional areas are provided with knowledge, advice and strategic networking activities to grow their business opportunities in and with China. She also works to assist Chinese companies who wish to do business in Victoria

Virginia works in close liaison with the ACBC Victoria Executive Committee, Austrade, DFAT, Federal and State Governments, the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia, the Chinese Consulate and with over 3,000 individuals connected with the Victorian branch.

Ms Binuo Erth

Binuo has enjoyed a distinguished career over the last 15 years in the financial services industry including roles as Managing Partner, Shareholder and Managing Director in several businesses before establishing Vellum Group – a diversified financial services firm and investment vehicle.

Binuo has extensive knowledge of business and finance laws, compliance frameworks and regulatory practices. She has led three financial license setups, seven fund setups and other regulated activities such as bond issuances, share placements and derivative design. She also has a strong technical background in a broad range of sectors including banking, energy, real estate, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and education.

Binuo is a passionate advocate for sustainable investment, exploring a range of projects with Vellum that meet the highest ESG standards and have a positive impact on people and the planet, while delivering returns for investors.

Binuo is a capital specialist with an extensive knowledge of the build-to-rent sector, helping manage the development and management of multiple projects through Vellum. She possesses a strong track record in Australia and New Zealand in areas such as mergers and acquisitions and divestment, capital raising, IPO process across multiple markets and strategic planning. She is experienced in raising funds from, and for, institutional investors including global banks and other financial institutions.

She has been successful in sourcing acquisition target, negotiation, deal execution, post-acquisition integration and restructuring.

Today, Binuo manages a range of ongoing Australian activities – centred around Vellum and its subsidiaries – including asset management, capital origination and corporate advisory.

Binuo completed her Masters in Business Administration at University of Technology Sydney and has degrees in Corporate Finance and Quantitative Finance.
